I know a lot of people here rave about the service they get from "The Low Carb Grocery".  Not being in Canada, I've not ordered from them myself, but having checked out their website, it looks like they have a great selection of Walden Farms products and other Dr. B friendly "stuff".

One of the members here sent me a PM saying that The Low Carb Grocery had a new affiliate program where commissions can be earned if your site sends customers to them.  It has never been my intent to use this site to make money, but in this case, The Low Carb Grocery seems to be one of those  businesses that is an asset to Dr. B dieters (especially if you have trouble finding these products locally), and if supporting them makes me a couple bucks that I can invest in the forums in some way -- so much the better.

Anyway, if you shop at The Low Carb Grocery by using the banner/link below, that will identify us as your referrer and get us the credit when you order.

I have to say that I really toiled with whether or not to participate in this.  If it weren't a company that I already knew was giving great service to the members here I wouldn't have even considered it because I'm not willing to promote something just for monetary gain.  Even despite the fact that they deserve any business we can send them, I wonder if me participating in a way that generates revenue to me still looks bad and shouldn't be done.  I'm definitely interested in any feedback on that aspect of this.

P.S.  If you have a low carb store (or other retailer) in your area that really helps you with the diet, please do support them.  I have one in my area and it is privately owned, and it is such a valueable asset that I make sure to buy things there even if I can get the same item at the grocery store -- just to help make sure it stays around.

[Edited to add:]

If you're having trouble finding Shirataki noodles locally, The Low Carb Grocery carries them (among tons of other good things).  This link should take you to them and still show you as referred by our site.

My thought is... why not use this if it is available. What would the harm be in making some money to help offset your costs? Go for it!

Thanks for the support along the way!

I agree with Carol.  Enough of us order from there.  You've also shared your rationale with us.  Now, if you were linking to "BrianB's Magic Weight Loss Pill" page, then some people may be skeptical.  (Of course...knowing this crowd...we'd all likely be lining up to buy them! )

I haven't been "posting" with this group for long, but from what I've read I would definately have to agree with Ada.
Brian you have been so inspirational and supportive to everyone here, I don't think anyone would look down on you for picking up a couple of bucks by advertising a site which is directly helpful to the people using this forum.
that's my two cents anyway :)

I absolutely agree. The time and effort you devote to helping by providing this forum is so much appreciated. If this "advertising" helps defray some of your costs, that is great.

Brian you have helped us Stay on this diet, encouraged us and advised. I am personally in awe of the number of hours that it has taken you to both administer this site as well as setting it up. Nobody could Possibly object.

Oh Brian, I think "it's about time". You've put so much into this site that I'm sure the tiny bit you'll receive in monetary compensation will not even come close to covering it all......but every little bit counts, right? Maybe, if you don't have a definite place for that money, you could use it to come visit us again!!! My door is always open!!

Is there somewhere that this link could be available to us easier than going through the post to find it each time? Could the logo be put on the front page?
