I've been searching for an allowed pita now pretty much since the diet started (albeit half-heartedly).  The desire to make a Dr. B legal pizza renewed my search.  It looks like there are only a couple brands on the U.S. food list, but Toufayan is one of them.  The good news is that most grocery stores carry the Toufayan pitas (you'll find them in the deli).  The bad news is that most of them only carry a couple flavors, mostly the whole wheat, onion, and white (which aren't the ones we're allowed).

I was at Sweetbay today and they had a couple more flavors (oat bran being one which perked me up because one of the allowed ones is an oat bran, but in a different brand), but they didn't have the one we're allowed -- Toufayan Low Carb.

Later I was in Publix (I was in all the major grocery stores today on various quests) and they had exactly one package of the Toufayan Low Carb (which of course I bought).  Here is a picture of it to help you pita questers in your search.  It is the only one (that I've seen) where the pitas are in a little plastic tray inside the plastic bag.  I'm thinking they are probably more crumbly than the regular ones due to being low fat, low carb, so the try probably helps keep them in one piece.

Anyway I'm glad I found them, and wanted to post this here as both a reminder to myself and to help you other Florida dieters out.

looks great Brian... For those of us out of Florida...  I use a flat bread sprayed with Pam, fried in a cast iron skillet, then add salsa, cooked veggie's , pepperoni , and veggie cheese. I put it in the iron skillet under the broiler till browned. It makes a great pizza.

Which pepperoni do you use Carol?  The only one I see is on the list is the vegetarian.

It is the vegetarian one Brian. I had it for lunch today. Very good and filling for sure. I use 12 pepperoni and veggie cheese slice over the top.
