By default the forum software gives you 30 different text to choose from if you want to change what color the text will be when you post. Unfortunately, not all of these colors are easy to read on the background color that the board uses. Sometimes, when choosing a color, you may not even realize that it might be hard to read for some people. This could happen if you have a CRT (tube type) monitor, which has great color separation, but the other person has an LCD (flat panel) monitor, which usually do not usually do as well in the color separation department.
To try to make it easy on everyone's eyes, I removed some of the color choices that were either unreadable or very hard on the eyes on my monitors. I have LCD monitors so I figure my screen should be the lowest common denominator (i.e. if it looks good on my screen, it probably looks good on all screens).
The colors I kept are: This is what this color looks like: Black This is what this color looks like: Red This is what this color looks like: Blue This is what this color looks like: Green This is what this color looks like: Orchid This is what this color looks like: Navy This is what this color looks like: Teal This is what this color looks like: Dark Navy This is what this color looks like: Light Orange This is what this color looks like: Orange This is what this color looks like: Pink This is what this color looks like: Light Pink This is what this color looks like: Aqua This is what this color looks like: Peach This is what this color looks like: Purple This is what this color looks like: Sea Blue This is what this color looks like: Maroon This is what this color looks like: Teal This is what this color looks like: Light Tan This is what this color looks like: Tan This is what this color looks like: Dark Purple
The colors I removed are: This is what this color looks like: White This is what this color looks like: Light Blue This is what this color looks like: Yellow This is what this color looks like: Lime Green This is what this color looks like: Light Gray This is what this color looks like: Gray This is what this color looks like: Light Tan This is what this color looks like: Khaki This is what this color looks like: Aqua
Yes, there were two "Aqua" colors. One was OK and one was bad.
There are still a couple colors left in the choices that are "iffy", but I erred on the side of leaving them in.
If any of the colors I've left in are difficult to read on your monitor, post it here. If enough people agree, I'll remove it.
I hate to limit people's "creative expression" by taking away colors, but I think it is worse to end up with a forum full of posts that cause people eyestrain. I tried to strike a happy balance.
Comments and feedback welcome.

If you go to "Your Control Panel" (link near the top of the screen beneath "Welcome YourName"), then go into "Personal Info", then "Edit your profile". The very last option on the page lets you set your post color.
Enjoy!
