Sometimes when you sign up with a website you don't realize how your username will end up being used, and after you've had it for awhile you wish you'd chosen something different. Usually there is no way to change your username other than to create a new account. But you don't really want to create a new account because you want all your old posts and PMs and everything to still be associated with you.
While this forum software doesn't provide any built-in facility to change usernames, I know how to do it in the database directly, so it can be done. So, if you want your handle changed, just send me a PM and I'll tell you what we need to do.
Then, after we change your handle, I'll put a post here letting everyone know that your handle changed so they'll know who you are.

And of course I didn't just come up with that topic out of thin air. The forum member formerly known as "Stanti" asked to be changed to be "Irene" so people can call her by her name. Her account has been renamed and all of her posts, etc. now show "Irene" instead of "Stanti". So don't be confused if you're reading an old thread and think "hey, I thought Stanti said that -- who's this Irene person".

We have another Witness Protection Program name change. "Basketcase" is now "Shawn". She chose "Basketcase" originally because she used to do weaving, but personally, I feel much better calling her Shawn than Basketcase.

We have another name change -- "Venividivici" is now "Jeff". This makes me happy because "Jeff" is a lot easier to type (and remember how to spell) than Venividivici.

We have another name change -- "caniijr" is now "CarolP". This is good for me because I know how to pronounce Carol, but whenever I read "caniijr" I never quite knew how to say it in my head.

OK, a new name change to report. The member formerly known as "maries" is now "NikiM". All of her posts, PM's, etc. will now show as the new name, so hopefully this notice will avoid any confusion.

Hey, I told Frank I was tired of referring to him as "MotoCache2 (Frank)" and he decided to become "Frank" here. So now he's Frank (not MotoCache2) and my life is simplified.
Frank is also a "Super Administrator" here, not because he knows a darn thing about the Dr. B diet, but because he's actually the one that introduced me to this software years ago and if anybody else knows what to do if I die, get hit by a bus, whatever, it's him, and now he can fix the thing if it and I break at the same time.
Besides, he's the gracious friend that hosts the forums on his server and bandwidth, so it only makes sense that he have the ability to control things eh?

This one is actually sort of a reverse-witness-protection-program rename. The member formerly known as jedsend-diet is now DaveD. Dave has joined the Staff (being announced separately) and he thought he'd de-cloak a little.
I never really knew what "jedsend" meant, so calling him Dave is a lot easier.
