Just wanted to say hello as I have just joined this forum. I booked my first appointment for September 27th (a long time to wait!). I have to admit that I am a bit apprehensive about a complete lifestyle change, but I am up for the challenge. I have about 30 to 40 pounds to lose and am excited to start. I have been trying to lose weight for over a year with exercise and watching what I eat. All I seem to be able to accomplish is maintaining the weight I am currently at. Hopefully in the meantime  I have picked up some good habits that will make this transition a bit easier.

Thanks for listening and I'll post after my first consult.

Welcome...I'm sure you'll do great!

Sept 27th is a long time to wait - is that because the clinic is so busy?  It's great that you've already been reading the forum - the tips will really help when you get started.

Keep us informed of how you're doing & we'll be cheering you on!

Shilps :)

Thanks so much you guys. This is great, I've never been a part of a forum before. I'll keep you posted.

P.S. Yes the clinic here in Edmonton is extremely busy.  :bounce:

Hi mrsjrs,

Welcome to the forums.  Lots of information and support.

I'm in Edmonton too and when I first booked my consult they gave me a date of Sept 20th.  I wasn't willing to wait because I was scared I would gain more weight.  Are you going to Christy's corner?  If you call the southside or westend they might have appointments sooner, then they will just transfer your file to the clinic you will be attending.

Best of Luck !!

Rattler

Thanks for the advice rattler, but the South Common location is the only one that is convenient for me. It also gives me time to save up a bit more.

Looks like you have been successful so far. Has it been difficult?

I'm in Edmonton too I go for my consult on sept.18th (about a month wait).  I hope you are as excited as I am!

P.S.
Huh?!  I live 5 minutes from South Common and when I called the office there they said they don't do consultations there?!  They said I had to go to the Terra Losa one which is so way inconvenient for me.  That cheeses me a little.

My first account wasn't working so I had to change my name from mrsjrs to jen29.

Michelle: That is really strange to me. I wonder why they said that to you. Maybe they are just too busy and can't book anymore. I would be a little bit upset as well. Can't you change clinics after the first consultation?
