I was at the "Lo Carb Connection" in Largo Mall the other day buying some lavash (low carb wraps).  I was chatting with the owner and she happened to mention they had an eCommerce site with most of their products on it.  She said that they ship UPS which is automatically 1-day shipping to anywhere in Florida at the regular "ground" rate.  I checked out their web store and a lot of the harder to find Dr. B items are there.

The website is www.locarbconnection.com.  They have a dedicated section for Walden Farms products.  They also sell the recently approved (see link in first sentence)  Sami's Slim Trim Lavash.

Just be careful when ordering the Walden dressings as some of the ones they list are the "SF" (Sugar Free) versions which are not allowed -- we can only have the calorie free ones.

Enjoy!

Thanks Brian,
I will check it out now.  I don't see Sami's product listed in our books, How many servings is one wrap?

It's not in the food list yet.  It was something I had submitted for approval and the Clearwater clinic called me to tell me it had been approved.  1/2 lavash is 1 bread, so 1 wrap is 2 breads.  Personally I think that since a whole wrap only has 2 net carbs, a whole wrap should be 1 bread since the best bread on the food list has 5 net grams in a slice (and is 1 slice = 1 bread).  I don't eat a lot of bread servings anyway, so it really doesn't matter to me, but these lavash wraps are mostly fiber, so I'd rather eat them than other approved "breads".

See this link for the original post.

I just placed an order online.  I'm going to try the English Toffee flavored Stevia to add to green tea.  I bought my kids the peppermint flavored since they like Stevia as well.  Next time, I may have to go in person and browse around.

Hi Brian

Just a little note about the walden farms products, they are all calorie, sugar, carb, fat etc free.  I carry them all in my store Diabetic Depot - Ranchlands here in Calgary.

I found it strange that only certain flavors are on the "LIST" so I took all the nutritional info into my clinic and the nurse told me they are all suitable with the exception of the Asian because it has worchestshire sauce in it.  Now in saying that the Thick & Spicy BBQ also has worchestshire in it and it is on the list.  I called the head office and asked why all of the flavors were not added to the list seeing as they had all of the nutritional info and the answer I got was...  We can't add everything to the list.  Why??  Because then the list would be too long.  I asked what difference does it make how long the list is, I'm the one printing it out.  Anyway I'm blabbering now.

The WF line is awesome and has been a very popular seller for me.

Thanks for the update Angela.

I just contacted the Lo Carb Connection and for any of the products on their site that you can't find here in Canada they will ship to Canada.

Note for us Canadians

Looking for products

Diabetic Depot Ranchlands - NW Calgary

Sugar Free & More - Red Deer

I know the above two stores order from the USA so chances are if you are looking for it they have it or will bring it in if they can find the supplier for it.

Sorry to the Edmontonians the only store I know of is Sugar Free & More in Red Deer

The Low Carb Grocery - Toronto *They have any excellent website for online ordering if you can't find what you are looking for at either of the above, no exchange or broker fees to pay when you order through a Canadian site*

Actually, that's why I bring it up -- a lot of folks mistakenly think that they are all calorie, sugar, carb, fat etc. free, but they aren't.

See this topic.

The "Sugar Free" version of the "Creamy Bacon" dressing has 4g of fat and 40 calories per serving.  It has no carbs, but it definitely not allowed for Dr. B dieters.  The "Calorie Free" version of the "Creamy Bacon" dressing on the other hand has no carbs, fat, or calories.  It also requires constant refrigeration (even before opening) whereas the Sugar Free version only needs to be refrigerated after opening.  Maybe that's why Lo Carb Connection sells the "SF" version of some dressings, to avoid the refrigeration issue that some of the Calorie Free versions have.

Here are the front labels of the two different versions of one Walden Farms dressing (the Creamy Bacon) from the other topic:

Here are the nutrition labels (Calorie Free on left, Sugar Free on right):

Angela,
Thanks for the info.  Is your store easy to get to?  I am only familiar with the south side of Calgary but would love to try some of your products.  If you know easy directions I would be really interested in checking out your store and adding variety to my diet!
Thanks,
Sara

Very interesting

I guess my supplier only brings in the calorie free ones   (thank goodness).  I don't even know if I have seen the other on the WF website.  Thanks for pointing that out.

I don't know if they are new or what because I couldn't find them on the WF website either, but they are even showing up in regular grocery stores (so you have to be extra careful).  For Atkins dieters they'd be great, but not for us.

Correct. The ones that are approved have zero (0) everything and are usually called Calorie Free. the Sugar Free ones have other ingredients that we are not suppose to have. Also to be strict to the diet not all Calorie Free dressings are approved. I still use the non listed Calorie Free dressings, but those flavors were probably not around with the first round of approvals went by.

Yep, if it's Walden Farms and the calories says something other than zero, it's the wrong stuff.

I bought the waldens farm calorie free (all zeros) creamy bacon and it says refriderate after opening and it wasn't in a cooler when I bought it. I hope its ok
