Hi everyone. Long time tubby - first time poster...
I've been lurking around the forums for a couple of weeks, and decided that with all of the hard work and effort Brian and the mods have put into this site, $10 was a small price to pay for their work.
Little bit about myself: 35 yr. old male / started Dr. B on July 30 so today is my eight-week anniversary and so far I've lost just over 45 lbs / the clinic says my goal is another 95 lbs, but I'm shooting for another 75 and will see how I feel at that point.
I've always been a "big boy", but I started ballooning about 10 years ago, about the time that I was going through six knee and one shoulder operation from sports injuries - which is not an excuse, since I'm the one who shoved pizza, wings and high fat/high carb foods down my throat, to get to this point.
Anyway, I finally came to the realization that with a high stress lifestyle and job, if I didn't take some action to get a grip on myself now at 35, I was either going to have my own "800 lb. man" show on TLC within the next few years, or I would be dead of a heart attack by 40. So... here I am.
Anyway, enough about me.
After reading through the faq and the "important posts" thread, I do have an exercise question for Brian or anyone who might have an answer.
If I understand the exercise threads correctly, it is suggested that heavy-duty cardio is not recommended, as that type of exercise relies on glycogen stores to get you through your workout, and presumably if you're strict about your food intake, you don't have any glycogen stores to rely on.
If I'm correct in the above understanding, is it then a correct assumption that if you slip (cheat) - and I know that we all try hard not to, but I'll admit that it's happened to me once already - which then reloads your glycogen stores, a hard workout or two should get you back into ketosis faster than simply going back onto the program itself will?
Thanks in advance for any response you may have.

Welcome to the forum! I workout everyday (kickboxing and yoga). While I can not answer your question about how it affects your glycogen stores, I personally have never noticed any impact. Maybe because I was doing the excercise before I started the diet, not sure. I will leave this in the capable hands of Brian who I am sure will know the answer.

Hi! Welcome to the boards and the forum!! I see that you've posted your question elsewhere and got an answer so I won't go into that. However, congrats on your weight loss so far and I look forward to cheering you on!
