Hi Guys,

I was just wondering how everyone's Thanksgiving went?

I felt I did very well being at my cottage for the three nights.  I did have a couple cheese slices one day, which I know is wrong.  At the time it was either have that, or dive into the mashed potatoes and stuffing, do I figured a small cheat to help me resist was the best bet.

It was sooooo hard to be strict.  I sat through three big dinners with my family, and watching everyone else eat all the amazing food was the most challenging moments I've had so far on the diet.  Somehow my aspagarus and chicken breast did not look so appealing.  I live alone, so I'm not used to sitting at a table watching others eat food I can't have.  But I sticked to the program, and I felt good afterwards.  I also made it through the weekend without a single glass of wine.  I'd normally have about 3-4 glasses a day at the cottage, so that was big for me.

I'm weighing in tomorrow.  I hope that my efforts pay off.  I hope you all had a nice weekend, and didn't fall victim to your relatives' cooking!

Yeah Thanksgiving was tough...but my family is so sweet, they made sure that I had options to eat as well and it was all good.  I found that having turkey breast with chicken broth instead of gravy worked well.

I weighed in this morning and was down 4.8 pounds over the long weekend so it all paid off in the end.

Sara

P.S.  Although I have to agree with you, not having any "real" drinks was one of the hardest points of the weekend!

Hi,

Although I am on maintenance now -- I still have to be conscious of food choices.  I skipped the gravy, made sure my starchy vegetable portion stayed in line and only had a small slice of cheesecake.  That being said, I'm still going to follow a more strict program this week to make up for the Thanksgiving dinner.  I was still really proud of myself as this was far less than I normally eat on this holiday and I feel that I made good choices in line with being on a 'maintain' frame of mind.

4.8 pounds!  That's amazing, Sara!  And congratulations on sticking to maintenance, NPacheco.

I did pretty well weight-wise too.  I was down 2.6 at my weigh in today.  I was happy with that.  I'm now down 13.2, so I can feel a difference.

Have a good week!

Great job to you too Heather!  That first 10 pds is such a milestone that it feels great once you hit it :)  Keep up the great work!  Good for you for staying strong.  It does get easier with time and it is a good habit to get into as people will always be shoving delicious, tempting food at you :p
