Hi everyone.

I am down 3.4 pounds from Friday!  Hooray!!!  I was really hoping for something like this, since last week I hardly lost at all.

I hope you guys all had good weekends,

WOW great job Heather & Sara!!!

Sorry to break the trend but I am up 0.2 over the weekend. Ahh well, it's probably just my body adjusting.

Have a good day!

Only down 0.4 today. I was hoping that by mixing up my meal plan and drinking more water this weekend I would have lost more than I did and get out of this rut.

Sara & Heather - What have you found helpful to break out of your plateau? I tried mixing things up this past weekend, but it seems like it didn't work. Did you add new things to your diet? Drink more water? Cut out caffeine? Cut down on fruits?Anything?! Thanks!

Hi Kate,

I just mixed up my food and increased my water, the same methods you used.  I'm sorry to hear that you're dissapointed.  It's so frustrating when you do everything you can and it's still not moving at the rate you would like.

Were you burning ketones this morning?  If so, then you'll probably have a good drop on Wednesday.

Good luck!

Yup, I was burning at 2++ this morning, same as this past Friday. I guess I'll just keep on mixing it up and hope that Wednesday brings a good drop. Thanks Heather!

Congratulations to all the losers!
I am up .2 today.
What do you mean Heather and Kate about mixing up the food?
Any more tips to get me going would be great too.

Ellen

Kate,

I never drink caffeine if I can help it and I rarely eat my two fruit servings, but the rest I haven't switched up at all.  Mind you I was at a conference last week and cheated and gained a full pound, so this weekend I was back to eating strict and I drank tonnes of water.  I hope this helps...Oh yeah and I hardly ever use a garnish, I think that may help as well.

Hi Ellen,

By mixing up food I just mean that I switch up the sorts of food I've been eating.  I had gotten into the habit of having a salad with chicken everyday for lunch, and tuna with a red pepper everyday for dinner.  So in the past few days I tried out different things.  I started making egg white omelettes with tomatoes and peppers, which I had not yet done.  I also made a batch of mashed coliflower on the weekend (a substitute for mashed potatoes).  I also started using salsa as a garnish on a lot of things.

The nurses recommended I do this, because if you always eat the same things than your body becomes very efficient at extracting calories from those foods, so it's good to change it up.  I don't know if this is actually the case, but at least it makes the foods you can eat seem less limited.

Best of luck!

-Heather

Whew.  Down 1.4 lbs, despite my little transgression Friday night.  Maybe the stall is over?

Wow some of you guys did terrific.  For those of you up .2 ~you may be living my last week so don't worry you could be down 4 lbs by the end of the week (at least that's what happened to me!)

I am down 0.4lbs since Friday ~which brings me to 34lbs lost in about 2 months...how crazy is that!

I readjusted by goal weight to 145lbs so only 20lbs to go (I am 5'7.8 so the clinic has my goal weight at 135-145)! However, on the weekend I bought a pair of "target jeans" ~which are jeans I want to fit comfortably into.  I decided that instead of focusing too much on the scale number (although this diet is sort of set up for us to obsess over that) I am going to try to focus on fitting into those jeans.  Once I am walking around in those jean then I will declare maintenance.  I suspect that will be close to 20lbs away.

Have a great weight loss week everyone!

Congrats to everyone!  And great idea Shannon_girl on the 'target' jeans.  Keep the faith those of you who gained or who have stalled.  It'll happen.....

I missed weigh in yesterday but KNOW I was up. I had a bad weekend. I caved in to chocolate cravings. As bad as it was having Haloween to tempt me the kids brought home a case of Chocolate bars and almonds to sell. SOOO I avoided the Haloween stuff but the Almonds got me in the end. I think because I changed my foods around last week I set myself up for hunger and then I was on the run away from home so much I ate out too. So today I will be back to my original line up it worked well so why change it!! Live and learn I guess, I have vowed that I will stop self sabotage as soon as I recognise it so I don't go totally down hill.

Oh Kimmir, don't be too hard on yourself!  You recognize the problem and you are working on it...so that is the important thing!  Just let us know if you need some extra support!  You've got me on MSN and Facebook right?
