Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone out there has successfully done strict consuming 2 meal replacements a day? (ex: 1 Dr. B Protien Bar for Breakfast and 1 AdvantEdge Shake for Lunch).
I am currently on 3 Protiens a day and I'm having a hard time eating all 3.

Thoughts????

Kins,

I think it is actually against the rules to have two Dr. B protien replacements a day...I can recall reading a lot of posts on the site here where people say that even eating one knocks them out of Ketosis.

Yes it is against the rules to have 2 a day.  It is really much healthier to have fresh and varied proteins as much as possible (meat, fish, fowl, eggs, cheese) with all their content of vitamins and enzymes and  use the protein packs which are all soy based for convenience only when no other choices are available.

Correct-I have done that by mistake in the past and it always showed up at my next weigh-either a smaller loss or I was not burning.

it's against the rules, but my first time on the diet, i ended up being so un-hungry after a while that i was eating 2 protein bars a day...and that was it.

i was burning like no one's business and losing. but others seem to have had different experiences, so it completely depends on you, it seems.

Hi 104. Welcome to the forum. :)

Can you let us know what the nurses/doctor said about that?  Were they accepting of your having only 300 calories a day and not much in the way of nutrients?

I'll pipe up and say that while I absolutely cannot and do not recommend it, there were times when I literally ate nothing but two Advantedge shakes a day.  That's 220 calories.  I didn't do it for extended periods, and I didn't do it real often, but I did do it and argued it was "legal" and the clinic agreed.  I was exploiting a loophole that the Advantedge shakes weren't on the processed protein list or the Dr. B protein list, so in theory they weren't limited.  I know that many/most nurses/clinics take exactly the opposite view, but that's how I read the list and I made my case.

Again, I don't recommend it, but I did do it now and again when pushing to make a mini-goal -- especially toward the end when I was stretching to make the last few.
