I've been thinking about how good I've been feeling since starting this program (lots more energy, and a happier disposition)... and I began wondering why it's made such a difference... and what happens next?
I'm only halfway through the strict part... and I plan to do the recommended maintenance. But I'm curious about whether my improved demeanor will last. Do I feel so much better because of the vitamin B shots -- and if so, what happens when they stop? (Have I become a vitamin B junkie?)
In the absence of vitamin B shots, can I expect the euphoria to continue, if I continue eating properly. (If yes, then that's even more incentive to eat right once I'm finished the program.)
Anybody understand what I'm talking about -- and do you have an answer?

Hi Reggie, I'll give you my perspective. First off, good choice on planning for maintenance. From my own experiences and reading others here, the relatively short time it takes to lose on strict isn't enough to break old habits. It really is a lifestyle change and once you're off maintenance it's SO important to not go back to your old eating habits (whatever they are...late night snacking, double helpings, mindless munching in front of TV, fast food, etc.).
My demeanour has actually gotten better as the months roll on. When I was on Strict, some friends wanted "fat, jolly Dave, back". I guess I would have a scowl on my face if I were forced to go out for dinner or even on maintenance I'd be so busy worrying about what was in my meal or what I could eat, I couldn't just enjoy. Now that "good eating" is just part of who I am, I feel great and must project this as well since people find me happier (or more jolly!) Also, I find that the bad habits (with friends, co-workers, etc.) fade away as the "novelty" of being thinner wears off for everyone (although I still enjoy the odd "you look great...you've done such a good job of keeping the weight off" comment).
Maintenance will also help wean you off the B-shots as well as help introduce you to basically all the food choices. If I have one recommendation it would be to do a long maintenance program (and no..I don't work for Dr.B!). Use that time wisely by really tracking what you're introducing back into your diet, how it affects your weight week by week, etc. Many here (me included) felt we were such pros about our food choices that we could handle anything. While this may be true for some, you do have to be very diligent. Having the nurses/Dr. there for you can help and in the grand scheme of things, Maintenance isn't THAT expensive.
Good luck!
