I would really like to be able to type my daily meals on the supplied diet sheet, but it is in a format where we cannot do that. Is there a way that can be changed? Its hard to print small and squeeze everything in the little squares and still keep it legible. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks! :think:

I'm with you on that one. Every time I fill them in, I think...there's gotta be another way!! Can't wait to hear if there is. I'm sure Brian can figure it out....right Brian??

The same diet sheet is on the Dr. B website in the patient area. You could download the PDF file and if you have Adobe Acrobat or some other PDF editor you could fill it in daily and print it off.

But that wouldn't work because any notes or anything else the nurses recorded would be lost when you print the next day out. Unless you reprinted on the same piece of paper every day.

Maybe making each diet sheet 2 weks per side giving us twice as much room to write in.

If you find a way that may work I'd be interested in hearing but with the nurses making notes on our sheets I just don't see how it can work any other than what they are doing now.

The clinic showed me a trick that I use with great success.  If you have any recipes that you make all the time, write the recipe on a post-it note and give it a title.  Stick the post-it note to the side of the sheet that you're not using.  Then on your diet sheet, you just write in the name of the recipe, not all the ingredients.  Works great.  The back side of my diet sheet is covered by 6 of the 3" x 3" post-its.  My daily food logs don't take up much room at all.  When it is time to use the other side of the sheet, I just move the post-its to the side that is full.  When I start a new diet sheet I just move them to the new sheet.  Every so often you might get rid of some if it is a recipe you don't make anymore.

TGIF! Brian I read your reply about the post it notes and thats a good idea. I also came up with another one today,(for those of us that know how), you can buy labels that are the approx. size of the squares on the menu. So you can type in a small font on the labels on your computer and print them out as you need.  I am going to try that one for now.  :)

The only wrinkle I see with the printing labels method is that you are supposed to write down your foods and liquid counts during the day as you consume them (otherwise things tend to get forgotten).  With the printing labels method it would seem like you'll have to write it down somewhere and then make the labels at the end of the day, which seems like double work.  But, if it makes your diet sheet the way you want it, it's worth it!

Your own diet sheet?  Is the clinic OK with that?  I've gotten used to the little boxes now.  I think the little boxes are an extra incentive to us to eat less food.   :D

I think they did, because when I first started my clinic was new and they said one of the first things they suggested was changing the diet sheet.  Apparently the response they got was that everyone always suggests that and Dr. B always refuses.  I have to believe it is exactly the way it is for a reason, and I really do think those boxes are tiny to incent us to keep things simple.   :)
